Use this Leash with my Paddle Board
Coast Guard recommendation is a coiled leash on paddled boards. However, I used both type. I prefer uncoiled on my long board for good reasons. I used the SBS on my paddle board so the family to enjoy the water too. Mostly calm and small waves and white wash. They enjoy riding them to the beach. The SBS leash gives them the safety they need to retrieve the board if they spill over, and the coiled line can help keep you from getting tangled around the ankles, which can sometimes happen. It's good to have a variety and this one is a superior quality for the price.

Good quality but won't fit around the calf, only the ankle
This seems like a well-made leash for the money, but only time will tell how durable it is. Everything about this leash is smaller/thinner than a comparable Dakine leash- most irritatingly, the ankle strap, which will only fit around the ankle, but is way too short for the calf (And no, I don't have fat ankles or calves, in fact have more of a lean/lanky body including the legs). The cord is thinner and possibly shorter too (difficult to tell since it's coiled). In hindsight, should've spent a little more on Dakine leash and have both versatility and the peace of mind that it won't break

Must have especially if you leave your life jacket on the board. Do you really want them both getting seperated from you?
Good sturdy product and a decent price. Important item to have especially in wind or chop. My wife and I like to be free of the life jacket on a calm hot day but do not want that life jacket and board getting away from us. This product is the lifeline. Not advocating not wearing a life jacket!!

Highly recommend
I love this leash. I ordered it based on reviews and was not disappointed. We paddle on flat water with an inflatable SUP. The problem is there are a lot of boats and jet skis where we paddle so there are times when we do fall off. This weekend was one of them. After a huge fall my friend said the leash was our best investment. It kept him connected to the paddle and his life jacket which was on the board. It's very comfortable, it never gets in the way and you really have no idea its on. The only comment I have is as a novice paddler I wish it would have come with directions. I know it sounds silly but after reading up on the internet I realized I did not need the small loop connected to it since my SUP had a large loop to put the velcro directly thru. We are looking into getting another board and we will definitely be ordering another one of these leashes. I only wish they made a leash for the actual paddle.

No real world experience yet.
SBS (Santa Barbara Surfing) has asked for me to review the SUP leash I purchased from them. Kinda hard to do. It is mid-March and the water is still very hard here in Alaska. However, I did take the time to examine the product and it seems very well made. Heavy duty, and I expect it to perform up to my expectations. I am very pleased with the construction.

Even the cord that is included to attach to the leash plug is far superior to the name brand cheap junk
High quality at a fair price. I recently ordered three leashes a 5' comp for me, a 7' for my wife, and this one for the SUP. The first two surfing leashes are from the big brands and the materials seem inferior to the SBS. It has nicer webbing and Velcro. The swivels are oversized for SUP. Even the cord that is included to attach to the leash plug is far superior to the name brand cheap junk. So far I've used it twice in shoulder high surf, It stays out of the water no drag no issues, great.

Just used it this morning and it works perfect! This leash is very professional with a thick coil and soft ankle wrap with swivel connections. I dont know much about leashes but for under $20 this leash seems to be extremely well made and worth the money. I was worried a leash would be thin for a 12 foot paddle board but after testing out this morning, I highly recommend this leash
