Plantworks Ltd SGRG500 Empathy 500g Supreme Lawn Seed with Rootgrow, White

The media could not be loaded. I want to grow some grass for my chicken but I only have a very small field so I don’t want to buy too many grass seed. This 500g is the perfect size.I wet the soil first and sprinkle the seed by hand and water the seeded soil everyday. It takes a week to see those seeds are starting to germinated and after a month I have greenland!!I let the chicken out of their run and they went immediately to eat the grass. So happy to see my chicken enjoys it.I am not sure if the grass will grow thicker over time, as at the moment the grass is quite fine but as I sprinkled a lot it looks very dense. I hope it will more thicker and tougher to withstand the destruction caused by my chicken

This was purchased as my grass had got patchy and bare in places. I took Monte Don's advise and I'm trying to grow seed trays of grass to fill in like a turf. The seed seems pretty good, it has just started to shoot up, I mixed topsoil and small amount of compost and pressed the seed into the soil. Better than just seeding and the birds eating it. I would recommend this grass seed.

I bought this to re-seed a few patchy areas of an otherwise healthy lawn. Used in early June. It's a mix of seed and fertilizer by the looks of it. Has worked really nicely, with a decent lawn back to mow-able in 6 weeks or so. Recommended.

I got two packets of seeds as the grass in my garden on one side was all brown and dead. Now the best part is, if you are really lazy like I was and did absolutely nothing like I was supposed to, it still grew grass!!!Ok, so I am not lazy. I just have 2 kids( a baby and a toddler) , so I really didn't have the time to spend on planting grass seeds!! I did not rake the brown patches off, I did not dig the mm's I was supposed to for planting the seeds.What I did actually was, get my toddler to help me hose the garden with water which she immensely enjoyed, we then threw handfuls of seeds all over the brown patches in the garden. Next, I threw 2 bags of topsoil randomly on it, crudely evened it out and watered again. Voilaaaa!!! New grass!!! See the before and after pictures. For such sloppy work, I am pretty amazed.Oh and the first pictures the brown patches I took, were on 29th May and the grassy pictures are from 12th and 17th June.

Having just left a lengthy review for some 'A1Lawn' grass seed which I tried before trying this (which I won’t repeat here but can probably be found on amazon with a little bit of searching) I can whole heartedly say that this stuff is without doubt the far superior option.It took just 4 days for me to get some new grass shoots to appear in some large bare areas of my lawn. Now a couple of weeks later its thickened out into some lush green grass and you can barely even notice where the bare patches were.Can’t recommend this highly enough. Make sure that you mix it through in a bucket with some topsoil if applying to bare spots (as opposed to sprinkling it on top). Five stars all day long.
