⚡️ Control your USB power flow without losing data—smart tech for savvy pros!
The PortaPow USB Power Blocker is a USB-A male to female adaptor that disables the 5V power line while allowing full USB 2.0 data transfer. Designed for specialist applications like 3D printers and Raspberry Pi, it prevents unwanted power delivery that can cause device issues. Note: it is not compatible with many smartphones or tablets and is distinct from data blockers.

Funciona muy bien
Funciona tal como se indica, lo uso con un dongle para Android Auto inalámbrico, ya que el puerto USB del auto no se apagaban cuando se apaga el auto quedándose el teléfono y el dongle conectados por bluetooth

Does the job for my JetKVM
Picked this up to put in between the y-adapter of my JetKVM to prevent power back feeding.

Works as described, I just wish it was smaller
I was having the issue with my Ender 3 where when I connected my Pi the screen on my Ender would stay on. This fix it, and it's been working perfectly ever since. You could just get a non-charging USB cable that would work just as well, but I went this route and it works fine.I wish it was a little smaller.

Does exactly what it supposed to do.

Works great for allowing data through while blocking power
I bought this for controlling my 3D printer with my Raspberry Pi 4. My Creality Ender 3 V2 was pulling power from both the Raspberry Pi as well as its own power and making a bad sounding whine. This let data through without power perfectly. Very glad this product exists.

NOT FOR APPLE CARPLAY
NOT FOR APPLE CARPLAYBought it to be able to run apple play in my car without charging phone and it won't do that. It just fully disconnects the phone (data and power wise). I'm sure it works for it's niche purpose, but doesn't work for your car. I meant to return, but forgot until the window had passed.

These Work Really Well...
I wish DATA only cables were more readily available. But, alas, they are not. Sure...you could butcher your own cords and cut that power line, but that is a destructive solution. If you've ever controlled a 3D printer with a raspberry pi or other pocket PC, then you probably have learned that traditional USB cables can send enough voltage through the cord to cause issues with the printer, even with the jumper that is supposed to prevent that in place. I bought these to try and stop this compromising current, and, just to varify they work, I plugged a USB powered light into one, and...no power was going to the light. So, I used it with my printer, and it does the job I need very well, and very affordably. I love these. I will probably buy some just to have in stock for a tinkering project where I might need one.
