I've had half a dozen projects were I needed tagged 18650s and been annoyed at the lack of availability of specific cells in tagged form, and the premium you pay for any tagged brand name cell, so finally goty own spot welder. After a bit of practice I can create very strong welds that tear the nickle strip rather than separating. The power control is quite fine and allows a good range of metal thicknesses to be welded. Construction seems very solid, the only thing letting this down is the UK plug which does not meet the UK regulations; no fuse, housing too small giving insufficient clearance between pins and fingertips and a sleeved earth pin. Chopping this off and fitting a proper BS1363 plug isn't much work, but shouldn't be required by the user.

Good little spot welder for thin steel or nickel plate. Includes some 0.15mm nickel for connecting batteries. Needs to charge above 5 volts before first use but subsequent welds are instant. Recommended settings are listed in instructions including weld time and power. Welds are strong and easy to do once you have some practice. Welder will beep when weld is complete. Plug is not a uk standard one so I will be changing it. That's why it's got 4 stars only.
