I am updating my review from three stars to five! Here's why: Potensic customer service is phenomenal, and they answered each of my concerns beautifully. Check this out...For RID, the information is blank and does not get updated unless the customer enters data. That's good, but even better is that they will be updating the software to let the user determine if and when they want to use RID in an upcoming update.The registration information is solely for interacting with customer care and will not be used for any other purpose.The geo-fencing has also been removed in a recent update already! There is no download in advance or restrictions imposed by the drone.And, the bag was updated at customer request to be sleeker with a better zipper and external material.You can see that they are intensely committed to customer satisfaction, and with these changes there is nothing but excellence in this product! FIVE STARS!--------------The drone is great, very much worth all the attention it gets at this price. But let me tell you what I don't like before I tell you what I do like.Potensic now requires you to associate an email address and account info directly to the drone itself. It always broadcasts it's ID information when turned on, and you cannot stop that. They have added geo-fencing, and won't let you fly very far if you don't register, and at that you can't use the drone more than a few days if you don't register. I don't know if the government made them do it, but this wasn't the case at all with the ATOM. They don't even tell you they require this before you purchase it. They make you give them permission to pull the drone data at their will also.So, for now, it's a three star review at best. But what about the rest of the flying experience?The drone is awesome. More stable in flight than the ATOM, much better camera, and a vastly improved remote control that is fabulous to use, has better control features, and feels sturdier. This drone has new, quieter propellers (by a little), far more camera functionality including multiple panorama options, and still great battery life. Distance is superior... Not 10km, but I got over 2 miles away before it started having issues with communication.The bag is disappointing, once you've had the old bag. The older ATOM bag has pockets on the outside, a handle on top of the bag, and a padded shoulder strap. The new bag does not have those, but is otherwise functionally similar.The batteries are the exact same. The charging dock is too. The propellers are updated, and not interchangable. They offer a protection plan, and if you're going to crash a few times or fly in the rain, it's worth it probably. But on the other hand, if you pay attention to where you're flying, it's unlikely you'll crash. There is a deductible required with each drone replacement as well. I'll keep the money and see what other drones/updates hit the market in the meantime.I love the drone and it's capabilities. I just wish they would remove the hokey registration and geo-fencing limitations.

Yes, I get it. It isn’t a DJI. Blah blah blah. Whatever… I am a Geologist, have my part 107 license, and I flew a DJI Mavic 2 Pro for work 4 yrs ago until they got new ones. This lil Atom 2 outperforms it in every aspect! Better pictures, better videos, smoother flight, a nice sturdy controller feel , handles well in the wind, some really nice creative features, half the size, and at a fraction of the price of those snobby DJI full size kits. Don’t get me wrong, DJI is the best in the business but if you don’t need all that (which is trivial anyway) then I promise this will exceed your every expectation. Heck if you are new to drones this is a no brainer. If you are scared that you, little Sally, or little Bobby are gonna crash it then get the Potensic insurance thingy when you register it and they will replace your happy little accidents (DRONES!!! NOT CHILDREN!) 2 times in a year or 4 in 2 years. I trust this thing to take great quality photos and videos every single time so if you were thinking Realty photo side hustle then go get your part 107 and go make a honest living or some beer money. There are a million videos online to back this up so you don’t have to take the guy who likes rocks version of the truth. Go get it, happy flying, and please keep that camera out of my bedroom window. That my friend, is illegal.

This is my first drone experience, and I have to say it is excellent. The drone itself is very well made, nice quality and packaging. The controller feels nice in the hand and is easy to get the hang of. The app is easy to navigate and the included videos and tutorials make this drone extremely approachable for a beginner. The customer service is also fantastic from Potensic. The range is impressive, I'm excited to take it out to the mountains soon to take some more video. The propellers are fairly quiet, not silent by any means but I don't feel like I'm annoying my neighbors when I fly around the back yard. Its got enough speed to take exciting video footage of moving subjects, but its no racing drone. The camera is fantastic, lots of settings to play around with and get the look you want, and I love the ability to take vertical video for social media. After just a few minutes I was already capturing stunning quality photos and video. I'm very impressed and can already tell I'll be delving deeper into the drone hobby.

I was outside putting things away and notice a weird phenomenon at least it was to me. I saw the sun setting to the west of me and the moon was rising to my east. I had to break out my ATOM 2 and catch this before it was gone forever. I've been flying drones for several years now and I'm a Part-107 certified pilot, This drone is well worth the price that I paid, it is a great drone for the beginner up to the more advanced flyer it's user friendly, easy to set up, takes fantastic pictures and videos, performs amazingly well, it basically does everything stated in the description that Potensic says. I don't usually back or support any products unless I am 100% sure that it is worthy of it and does everything the manufacturer say it does. I would recommend this drone without hesitation. The other bonus is that Potensic offers excellent customer service and support. I give this drone a very high rating, a great drone for the price!
